What Are The Characteristics Of Thrust Bearings?

Thrust bearing advantages and disadvantages

Thrust bearings are special bearings used to withstand axial forces, that is, bearings with forces in the direction parallel to the shaft. Thrust bearings are also called thrust bearings.

Thrust Bearing Advantages And Disadvantages
What are the advantages of thrust bearings?

First, the friction coefficient of the thrust bearing is small, so the friction resistance and start friction torque is small, less power consumption
Second, the shape and size of the international standardization, serialization, generalization, applicable to mass production, good interchangeability, easy to install and disassemble and maintenance.
Third, the internal clearance of the thrust bearing is very small processing precision, can be applied by pre-pressure to improve the rigidity of the bearing, which is very important for precision machinery.
Fourth, the thrust bearing high efficiency of power transmission, less heat, easy lubrication and maintenance, saving lubricant.
Fifth, the load speed and working temperature of the wide range of adaptation, a small number of working conditions subject to change, the performance of the bearing does not have a significant impact
Sixth, thrust bearings in general most types of bearings can to when bearing radial and axial load, can simplify the structure.

What are the main reasons for defects and damage of thrust bearings?

(1) due to the operation and maintenance of all aspects of the rotor axial thrust is too large, the oil film is squeezed too thin, in the tile out of the oil side of the appearance of
Semi-dry friction phenomenon, so that the bearing alloy wear, temperature rise, serious cases can lead to bearing alloy melting.
(2) Due to the defects of the oil system caused by oil shortage, oil breakage or poor oil quality.
(3) poor quality of thrust tile overhaul, such as thrust tile block bearing alloy casting quality is not good, tile block and thrust disk research fit is not good.
As well as the shaft tile oil ring gap is too large, resulting in excessive oil leakage, so that the shaft tile oil shortage, etc..
(4)Electric corrosion caused by shaft current
(5) turbine vibration, thrust disk slack or lady’s deviation, so that the tile long-term impact load, shaft)
Bearing alloy embrittlement occurs cracks to fall off, etc.

Working principle:

Thrust ball bearing is a kind of separation type bearing, shaft ring, seat ring can be separated from the cage, steel ball components. Shaft ring is the collar with the shaft, seat ring is the collar with the bearing seat hole, and shaft clearance; thrust ball bearing can only withstand axial load, one-way thrust ball bearing is only able to withstand a direction of the axial load, two-way thrust ball bearing can withstand two directions of the axial load.

Thrust ball bearings can not limit the radial displacement of the shaft, the limit speed is very low, one-way thrust ball bearings can limit the axial displacement of the shaft and shell in one direction, two-way bearings can limit the axial displacement in two directions. Thrust roller bearing is used to bear axial load mainly shaft, radial combined load, but the radial load shall not exceed 55% of the axial load. Compared with other thrust roller bearings, this bearing friction factor is lower, higher speed, and has a spherical performance.

The roller of 29000 type bearing is asymmetric spherical roller, which can reduce the relative sliding of roller and raceway in the work, and the roller is long, large diameter, the number of rollers, high load capacity, usually using oil lubrication, individual low speed case can be grease lubrication. In the design selection, should be preferred; 80000 type thrust cylindrical roller bearings, 90000 type thrust tapered roller bearings and AXK type thrust needle roller bearings, can withstand one-way axial load, it is much larger than the axial load capacity of thrust ball bearings, and rigid, occupy little axial space. Thrust cylindrical roller bearings and thrust needle roller bearings are suitable for low speed occasions, and the speed of thrust tapered roller bearings is slightly higher than that of thrust cylindrical roller bearings.
